SIGNATURE SPICE: Bisibele Bath is essentially a spicy dish made with rice, lentils and vegetables that is tempered with typical South Indian spices and nuts. INGREDIENTS: Asafoetida, Bengal gram [Chana dal], Black cardamom, Black lentil [Urad dal], Black pepper, Cardamom, Cloves, Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Desiccated coconut, Fenugreek seeds, Original Kerala cinnamon, Original Indian bay leaf, Kapok buds [Marathi moggu], Red chillies, Salt, Sesame, Turmeric.
RECIPE: The traditional way of making Bisible Bhat involves cooking rice, pigeon peas [Tuvar dal] and the vegetables separately. Chop different commonly used vegetables include Carrots, Turnips, Green peas, Brinjal [Eggplant], French beans, Kohlrabi [Ganth gobi], Capsicum [Green bell pepper], Chayote squash [Chow chow]. Cook to perfection, and then gently mix the three. Add Kusha Spices Bisibele Bhat Masala Powder and cook on a slow flame till the excess water dries up. Add Tamarind pulp, seasoning, lots of Ghee [Clarified butter], and Salt to taste.
