SIGNATURE SPICE: Sambar is a South Indian lentil and vegetable stew made with Pigeon pea lentil, Tamarind and a unique spice blend called sambar masala powder. It is the most widely consumed dish in South Indian homes. Kusha Spices Sambar Masala Powder contains the rare and expensive Original Kerala cinnamon as its signature spice.

INGREDIENTS: Asafoetida, Bengal gram [Chana dal], Black lentil [Urad dal], Black pepper, Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Desiccated coconut, Fenugreek seeds, Original Kerala cinnamon, Original Indian bay leaf, Kapok buds, [Marathi moggu], Red chillies, Rice, Salt, Turmeric.

RECIPE: Pressure cook Pigeon Pea Lentil [Tuvar dal] along with a pinch of Turmeric in a pressure cooker. Once cooked, mash it. Coarse chop vegetables such as Pumpkin, Brinjal [Eggplant], Okra, Drumsticks etc. and cook in water. Add prepared tamarind pulp to the cooked vegetables. Once all are cooked to perfection, gently mix with the dal. Add Kusha Sambar Masala Powder and cook on a slow flame. Add oil seasoning and a bit of Salt to taste.
