SIGNATURE SPICE: Rasam can best be described as a tangy soup made of lentils and spiced with various herbs and tamarind. It is a staple in many South Indian households. Kusha Spices Rasam Masala contains Red chilli flakes as its signature spice. The Chilli flakes give it a spicy overtone.
INGREDIENTS: Asafoetida, Bengal gram [Chana dal], Black pepper, Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Dried curry leaves, Fenugreek seeds, Mustard seeds, Pigeon peas, Red chillies, Rice, Salt, Turmeric.
RECIPE: Pressure cook Pigeon pea lentil [Tuvar dal] along with a pinch of Turmeric in a pressure cooker. Once cooked, mash it. On the side boil Tomatoes, mash them. Add Tamarind pulp, Turmeric powder and some Asafoetida. Once all are cooked to perfection, gently mix with the dal. Add Kusha Spices Rasam Masala Powder and bring to boil on a slow flame. Add oil seasoning and Salt to taste.
